Winter Holidays in Merano and Environs – Prünsterhof Holiday Apartments
Winter in Schenna – skiing, hiking, cross-country skiing and more
In just a short drive, you can reach the Merano 2000 ski area. Particularly convenient: the valley station is only 5.5 km from the Prünsterhof. Perfect for a spontaneous day of skiing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing or snowboarding – all with plenty of sunshine and breath-taking panoramic views.
If you’re looking for even more variety, we recommend the Schwemmalm ski area in the Ultental Valley or the Pfelders ski area in the Passeiertal Valley.
What we love most about winter

Quiet slopes, secluded trails and true winter tranquillity
Winter here is a season to slow down. We value the quieter weeks beyond the peak periods in particular: uncrowded and perfectly groomed slopes, peaceful winter walking trails and clear mountain air that restores both body and mind.
Our insider tip: the calmest times are in November, after the Christmas holidays until Carnival, and again from Carnival through to Easter. January often brings especially tranquil slopes, excellent conditions and bright winter days.

Find peace. Slow down.
Just as nature settles into rest in winter, life on the farm becomes quieter too. It is the most intimate time of year. Although the work never truly pauses, there is more space for one another – and for warm, unhurried family evenings in the snug parlour.

Light shows and Christmas markets
Winter has much to offer beyond the slopes: gentle winter walks, with or without snow, ice skating in Schenna, Advent at Schenna Castle, the Christmas Market in Merano and the atmospheric Lumagica light park in the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.
And just a minute from the farm, the Taser Alm cable car continues to operate throughout the Christmas season.

Natural wood, harmonious tones and thoughtful details transform our holiday apartments into inviting winter retreats – the perfect place to warm up after a day outdoors.
Thanks to our sunny hillside setting, the apartments are filled with natural light, even in the quieter months of autumn and winter.
